Avast overwatch reddit12/13/2023 ![]() If it helps, I don't get this error when I play Overwatch, which is launched through instead of Steam. Every time, though, the music of the game keeps playing in the background. Sometimes it will crash to desktop, and other times I have to restart my whole pc. None of these are currently present in OWL.ĭo I think all esport players SHOULD have a union? Of course, they are crazy not to, but its going to take more than wishful thinking and a handful of players from one game.Recently, after no hardware changes, my games (specifically Elden Ring and Destiny 2) have been crashing at seemingly random times with no error code. Being a real union isn't just being a disorganised tribe talking shit on Twitter, it requires genuine leverage and organisation.Įven small powerful unions like some individual sport unions have decades of build up, many hundreds/thousands of members and extremely deep pockets. I mean if they all joined they would have some small level of influence yes but nothing like a real industrial union. Let alone all striking and being taken to court for breach of contract. Unions rely on large scale pressure to force recalcitrant companies to bend the knee where they can say, "you can't replace us with scabs because everyone is in the union and other unions support us".Īlso just for example a basic court battle to get some pay dispute matter settled could cost tens of thousands of dollars, how are 100 players gonna pay for that every time it happens. It's VERY difficult to just unionise with 100ish people. Sucks to suck."īecause it has no financial resources and limited ability to prevent people from being replaced (especially with hundreds of willing replacements waiting in the wings). Total denial amounting to: "The league agrees that we were right to drop him and found nothing wrong with anything we did. We're taking steps to avoid this sort of thing" Silence as an internal investigation finds no fault until more shady bullshit is exposed by players.Ī hollow apology amounting to: "We value our players, guys. If we do actually get an investigation we're going to see one of three likely outcomes: Why would they air their dirty laundry out with an investigation? Who are they going to punish? Themselves? Fuck no. ![]() They have a vested interest in sweeping shit like this under the rug. They can't wait for the league or their orgs to organize themselves because they won't. Nothing meaningful will happen here till the players step up and unionize. ![]() Any 'investigation' is going to result in a slap on the wrist behind closed doors at worst and a half assed public apology at best followed by the league essentially saying "shut up, we own you" to the players. The contracts they did sign are likely very broad at best.
